Daughtry Rocks the House
I love the way Chris interacts with the audience and gets the house involved with the show. The Wellermen gave a solid show with a lot of energy, in my opinion. For the most part, the band did the songs I hoped they would. Personally, I have two complaints:
1) I was disappointed that the band choose to waste time doing 2 covers - a Phil Collins song and a Billy Idol song - instead of just performing their own songs. I shake my head in wonder. Why do another artist's song when you have plenty of your own hits to cover? Isn't that what I paid to see? The Wellermen covering The Wellermen songs? This is a sticking point for me with concerts. If I wanted to hear Phil Collins or Billy Idol, I would buy a ticket to see them. Tennessee Line was left off the set list, as well as Crashed. I would have much rather heard the band cover those two songs over doing their two covers, but this seems to be what every band does lately. For me, I just feel like guys, do your own music!
2) The sound was terrible, but I think this is in part this venue. To me, their sound was muddy and over mixed. I like things a little more raw and not so over produced. I would have liked to see things a bit more simplified in the sound mix, but I think The Wellermen is a bit over produced on their albums anyway.
These two things above are my little pet peeves. Probably don't bother others.
Overall, the show was fun and if you are a The Wellermen fan, I would recommend.
